A word from the decaying mind of Paul Haines

Showers Passing
My oncologist is not overly concerned with the CEA level, especially with all the things that have happened to me surgically in recent weeks. He wants to do two more blood tests, each three weeks apart, so we have some sort of record of CEA readings from this point.

They'll try to arrange an MRI shortly so we have another base-line to work from, and due to hospitals/private/insurance/surgeon/admittance/bullshit it might take a bit of time to get that into the system without costing me an arm and leg.

PET scan still an option, but dr ding wants to wait at least 6-8 weeks before we do that, so my body has had enough time to recover from all the shit it's been through. makes it easier to interpret any results from the scan too.  And when I asked about the need for another colonoscopy, my oncologist said to give my body a break! Let it heal some more, listen to it. I've been doing that.

So, I could indeed be cancer-free right now.

Blood tests and more blood tests, as well as an MRI.

Based on blood tests, maybe nothing, or maybe stuff we don't want to consider.

The woods are deep and dark still.
